Choose Your New Heater Carefully
The first step in ensuring your 100% satisfaction with your new heater is, of course, to guarantee that you are choosing the right heater for your needs and personal user preferences. There are a bunch of different options to consider, and we install two of the most popular types of heaters today: the furnace and the heat pump. Each has its pros and cons, of course.-
- Gas furnaces remain king of the castle when it comes to heating around here and throughout most of the country. Natural gas is an affordable and relatively clean–burning, largely domestic fuel source. Burning it to generate heat results in outstanding and affordable comfort.
-
- Electric furnaces are another great option, and are cheaper to have installed than gas furnaces. If you like to keep your home really toasty when temperatures drop, however, you should also keep in mind the fact that, while incredibly efficient as no heat is lost to flue gases, electricity is still a more expensive resource than gas for heating.
-
- Heat pumps are all–electric systems, but their unique method of heat transfer makes them incredibly efficient and affordable to run, as well. They use a refrigerant cycle to remove existing heat from the air outside and they heat the house with that heat. Plus, they can reverse their operation in order to function as an AC in the summer.
